WOYWW 348 - Scanning

Hello everyone.
Today I am playing with my Scan n Cut from Brother. I decided I wanted to try cutting stencils. I tried first with some donated wax stencil paper. That wasn't a real success but I'm learning. The problem with wax paper is it doesn't want to stick to the carrier sheet. I was able to scan some wonderful images from my book that was given to me from a friend. These are cutting nicely from card stock.

Oh yes and here's a little lap doodling I was doing with the elegant writer pen while listening to podcasts.
Well I'm off to visit a few other desks. If you don't know what I'm talking about Wednesday is the day that everybody goes to visit at the Stamping Ground with Julia. Stop by and check out what everybody's doing. TTFN

WOYWW 323

Hello
It is Wednesday and that signals a new post for this weeks linkup. Check out the Stamping Ground and what's on your work desk Wednesdays. You can find out all about it there. I've been a bit under the weather this week so have not had a chance to post or create other than one for the Shaacks design team. I did get some really cool supplies in the mail. They were from a prize package I won from the Wendy Vecchi Make Art challenge that you can find here

She even included this cute little package of diecuts.

I think these will really come in handy. Well I'm off to visit other sites have a happy Wednesday everyone.

WOYWW - 321

Hello all of my crafty friends and Wednesday work desk bloggers. Thanks for swinging by to say hello and share what I have been doing. It's Wednesday and that means it's time to visit the Stamping Ground and say hello to Julia and all the rest of the deskers. If you've never done this before I think you will get a thrill out of seeing what everyone else has been doing, so stop by a few desks, say hello and tell them I sent you. They're all friendly. Not one biter in the crowd. So here's a picture of the state of my desk as we speak.
I have a few things off in the other direction that I can't show you just yet but will be posting soon. What you're looking at is the aftermath of a journaling by five session. If you haven't heard of this it's kind of a movement I found on YouTube about 5-15 minutes sessions working on 20 pages in a journal. The point is to create without spending a lot of time thinking about the whole process and complete a 20 page spread in an hour and 15 minutes. I know seems crazy right. Well I completed the 1st two 15 minutes sessions and then realized I needed to have some papers cut and ready for the third part. Thus you see the state of affairs on my desk.
My laptop and video camera are out because I've been taping the whole thing. You can find the first two videos which are pretty funny on my YouTube channel. I have created a "Journal" playlist for these as I create these journal pages. I also created a vlog post on YouTube this week just some random thoughts incase you are really bored and want to watch me blather.
Oh almost forgot I did a Bible journaling page this week too. Here it is. I am in a Facebook group that does Bible journaling. It's called Creating in Faith if anyone is interested in doing bible journaling.
Well it's the middle of the night here so I suppose I should be off. I will be checking out some desks soon. Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW -319

Hello fellow bloggers. Wednesday sure seems to come and go in a hurry. Why am I worried about Wednesday you ask. Well if you go over to the stamping ground and visit on any Wednesday Julia Dunnit has a group of lovely people who post about their desks. Hop on over and check them out will you? We are a bit somber this week with the passing of one of our own. I didn't know Eliza personally but enjoyed sharing with her in blog posts.
So what am I working on currently? Well I found out about a really cool YouTube project going on that is going to launch on the 17th. If you want to know about it you can check my latest video or go over and see Cinnamon or any of the other you tubers. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to get to know fellow crafters and artists who contribute on a regular basis to YouTube.
So here's my desk.
Yeah that's right, I'm trying to upload video so that I can contribute. I did a post yesterday about my alcohol ink adventure if you're interested in anything like that. There is my huge mug of iced coffee standing by. I am having a raspberry iced tea today. Can you tell it has been hot this week here? Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to see what I can accomplish today and visit a few desks.

WOYWW 317

Hello bloggers,
It's Wednesday again and time to post about our desks.  What is that you may ask. Well over at the Stamping  Ground, Julia Dunnit has a linky party every week on Wednesday.  Hop over and see what's going on.
Well I am off visiting this week. I left things drying on my desk.
My grandson is celebrating his ninth birthday and Nana needed to be there to help celebrate. When asked what his favorite color is he says rainbow. He always likes happy colors and explains that he is a colorful boy. When asked what he wanted for a birthday cake he said a tie-dyed cake. This is what my daughter came up with for that.

Looks like he got his wish. So not a lot of artsy stuff going on this week maybe next week have a wonderful Wednesday folks. Ttyl

What's on your work desk 315 Wednesday?

Good morning everyone,
I hope you have had less rain than we have here currently. I know Texas is really being hit hard. My friends in Arizona say the monsoons are upon them and it isn't looking too much better than Texas and here.
So I have been cleaning and playing in my workspace. I think more playing is happening than cleaning at the moment,

Oh and did I mention we were working on the lighting too. I took a little time out to play with some products just to see how they worked and what I liked and did not like.

I discovered I love Neo-Watercolor crayons. Still loving the Color Burst, Silks and H2o's too.

So here's a little corner that I've actually tidied up. Okay now wasn't that pretty. Well this is pretty much what the rest of the room looks like and what I will be working on today. Lol

Maybe I'll see you in about a month??? Just joking. Have a productive Wednesday everyone and be sure to check out the other Wednesday desker's over at the Stamping Ground with Julia Dunnit

WOYWW 281

Well I can tell you it's not a pretty sight. This is the aftermath of an all day session of being creative. If you want to know what all that stuff made, check the previous post. I was playing with what I think may be a new technique. If any of you have seen this done anywhere please let me know. I sure would like to know how to get it right. Anyway here's my mess. I might clean it up tomorrow or the next day or not. It's more fun being messy.
Well it's time for me to go snoop around. If you don't know what I'm talking about, be sure and check out Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground blog. There are plenty of desks to check out there. Have a good week my friends. Ttfn

WOYWW - 280

Don't expect to see a lot this week. I had way too much fun playing this weekend. Here are a couple of photos from the event I attended.

I have been cleaning because I have some friends coming to play tomorrow.
Clean Die Cutting Surface
Clean Work surfaces

The only thing on my desk currently is this little stairstep card project I'm trying to figure out. Once I get the measurements down I can start to create and embellish. Time for me to go snoop around. Be sure and check out Julia's site over at the stamping ground to see what's on the other desker's desks today. ttfn

WOYWW 243

Morning everyone,
Well it's Wednesday (somewhere) and after my whirlwind trip to California I have quite a mess and not just on my desk. I am not sure where it is all going to go.
New stencils, paints. projects, everything is out. I just finish some projects with the new Art Anthology paint you can check that out in my previous post if you are interested. In addition to showing my desk on Wednesday it's usually a cleanup day for me. I bought a new air compressor to use with my Copic markers and I need to assemble that. You would think I would have this done. Here goes.
Yippee one project up and running. Isn't that compressor a thing of beauty? I have toyed with the idea of getting one for years.

So I did a bit of tidy up. Now I'm ready to play. Here are some of the projects that we did in the alcohol ink classes with Copic. I did painting with ink and airbrushing and loved both classes.

Here's my space tidied and ready to use again.

I tend to keep working and just pushing things back on my desk. That only works for so long.  I only stay clean long enough to drag out more stuff. I had a play today with more paint and did a video to show you what my play produced. I will say it was an exciting day. I dropped my favorite heat tool in my wash water and then the pan sprung a leak. ack! Here are some stills. I know this is getting lengthy so this is a peek of what I put in the video.
Well I must get this posted and go visit the other deskers. If you're not familiar with this 'what's on my work desk Wednesday', check out the Stamping Ground at Julia Dunnit's blog. Hugs gentle crafters. I hope you are surviving this polar vortex again.

WOYWW 240

Hi everyone just a short note. My flight to Anaheim was canceled today. Going to try to head out there tomorrow. So what do I do when I'm stuck? I go to my desk.
I've been working on this piece for sometime and now I think I can call it done. Hope you like it. I know it's a little bit different for some of you.
A happy WOYWW to all. If you don't understand what I'm talking about check out Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground to find out the details. You may want to check out some of their desks and join the fun.  I will be skipping next week more than likely unless I can post from California. I will be headed out to CHA, Prima's Art Venture and several Copic classes as soon as I can get a flight. On a. bus headed to the DesMoines airport. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Ttfn

WOYWW 234 - Return from the Stamp Show

Good morning everyone,
A big happy Thanksgiving week to all of the deskers on this side of the pond. A happy WOYWW to all. If you don't understand what I'm talking about check out Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground to find out the details. You may want to check out some of their desks and join the fun.

My desk is in ruins. I will be spending time this morning putting things away from the weekend. I need to find some surface to work on. That's okay because I had a great time and came home with some wonderful new toys.

I have wanted the Carolers die since I first saw it.

I have new rubber and embossing folders along with a new stack of Pan Pastels.

I found this great Stamptangle block from Just For Fun and some fun holiday stamps from Raisin Boat. Well I better get busy. I have some cleaning to do and some desks to visit. Happy Wednesday!

WOYWW 233 - Holiday in progress

Happy Wednesday everyone,
Time to check out the desks of crafters around the world. If you want to find out more about it check out Julia's blog here and join in.

I had a big day Saturday crafting and completed some of my Christmas cards. You can see from the disarray on my desktop I have a lot of components ready to start assembly. This week I'm headed to the One-Of-A-Kind show in Madison Wisconsin. I signed up for a bunch of classes and plan to see Tim Holtz at the Stampers Anonymous booth along with the other great vendors.

Below is one of the flip cards I have been working on.

The design allows for the middle section to swing and flip.

I also did a pop up design. I just think it adds to the fun of the holiday season.

I did a little shopping was able to find some frog and washi tape. Additionally I went to the hardware and found some ceramic tile to try my alcohol ink on. I still need to figure out what I want to seal them with and get something for bumpers for the bottoms so they don't scratch the tables.

Well that's it for today. Got to get my things around for classes. ttfn

WOYWW 231 - Wreath

Hi everyone,
Another week has flown by and today is actually Thursday not Wednesday. Yes I am late. But I still want to show you what I've been working on. This is for friend of mine at work. She needed something that would go with the colors in her home. I did one of these in traditional colors but it just didn't suit her home. I had started this some time ago but these take a bit of time to create.
I had cut strips of paper and scored each at a quarter inch. I used decorative punches on the border. I think I first got this idea from Martha Stewart crafts and Archivers. The rosettes can be assembles in many ways. They can be used to form a Christmas tree. A pumpkin, a turkey and more.
I embellished with some snowflakes I painted and glittered, a few glass balls and some glittered branches.

Be Sure and stop by Julia's place and see what's been on everybody else's desks this week. If you're not sure what I'm talking about you can check it out here

WOYWW 230

Good morning Wednesday work desk bloggers,
I had a great weekend helping my son move and meeting up with some new Iowa artist friends. They had met once before and had made wonderful mats to carry with them to keep their work surfaces clean. I got a few supplies and now I'm in the process of making one for myself.

I think this colorful duct tape will be a hoot. Looks like me when I'm splattering about.

Anyway here's a shot of what I'm working on currently. I started this canvas on Saturday and I can say that the background is now complete.

I'm thinking it might become an owl or words or something I'll keep you posted. Below is a canvas I started on Saturday and finished for the store. You can check prior posts if you want to see more.

Be sure to stop by Julia's blog and check out the other deskers. If you don't know what I am talking about you can get the skinny here.
Have a great Wednesday.
