Artist Challenges

Hello everyone,
I never thought of myself as a person who always has to take a dare, but recently I have been confronted with a lot of challenges. Not just life challenges but artistic challenges. I think some of you know what I'm talking about but if you don't let me explain. Many groups on Facebook have these challenges or prompts to use to help you create on a daily basis. Well let's just say I find all of them interesting. And then I have a group of friends who are also artistic who prod me in the direction of creating on a more regular basis. I know ideally, this is only going to help me grow in my art. but I think I also need to step back once in a while and reassess the things that I am doing.
I took on the prompts for two months doing an index card a day. While I think it was beneficial, I also feel that two months on one project is a long time when it's a daily project. Additionally while I was doing the two month project I had monthly and weekly challenges to meet. I apologize I haven't spent a lot of time blogging because I was making art and sharing a lot of it on my Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube.

So I've been trying to do several other Facebook groups. There are challenges from international crafters who post both weekly and monthly prompts. And then there is a group that does a mermaid every month and Mission Inspiration and 29 faces...see what I mean. I've also been trying to do a few collaborations with some of my friends. Sheri has a new Facebook group called Tag It Tuesday. She posts prompts for the month and we all create tags based on that. And we cannot forget about pick a stick challenge. That's a journaling group three of my friends and I started that gives 10 prompts for a page each month. It was just the four of us at the beginning of the year and now we have a group of over 600 art journaler.

Additionally Shel C and I have been doing some Gelli print collaborations. Here are a few pics. You can find the complete play list on YouTube. We have another week of fun planned there.
So I hope you understand, dear readers, that my challenges include finding the time to blog. It is always something I want to do but then the studio calls to me. If you want to see more than what you are following here, you can also find me in these other places.

Journal the day away.

Hi everyone.
I just looked up and realized it was 4:30. guess I better quit doing this and think about making some dinner. Before I go I thought I'd show you what I've been up to today.

Yes I actually did a two page spread in my journal. I started with some Dina Wakley  paints. Stenciled, embossed, stamped, glued and did about everything I could to this page.
Do you remember theGelli®i printing I did yesterday? Well I used some today, by punching them out in the chevron pattern and apply them to this page.
Do you remember the silhouettes I made with my Scan n Cut machine? I used some of them today on this page too.
It was a good day to journal I had a lot to say. I won't bore you with the details but I've gotten most of it out of my system. I hope you enjoy my pages.
Can you see the lovely Stampers Anonymous, Wendy Vicchi stamps and Archival ink. Love red rubber stamps.

This was the aftermath. I just can't work neatly but I am putting it all away to play another day. Ttfn

WOYWW

Hello everyone it's Wednesday. I've been shopping and making tools for my Gelli printing. I'm just waiting for things to dry so I can try some new prints. Gelli Arts has had some wonderful YouTube videos you may want to watch. I am making this board with a flex molding paste to use with my Gelli printing plate.
The foam rubber pictured above is to make more printing tools.

Got to go now to finish cutting fun foam for tools. The day goes by like a freight train and I have so much I want to accomplish today.
See you at your desk over at Stamping Ground where Julia is hosting the world wide desk hop and snoop!

Gelli® Printing

Hello everyone and happy Sunday.

I had a good day yesterday at scrap mania and was able to make embellishments.
I have got to say I'm liking loving my Gelli plate. I created quite a few background papers and transferred some ink onto tape.

Gelli Arts has a YouTube video on this. It's awesome.

If you want to learn more, I plan to teach a class at Stampmania. I hope you can join us. It should be a lot of fun. btw... isn't my grandson just the cutest!!! Love you guys.

Gelli®

Hi everyone,
This is national scrapbooking weekend and it started out rather gloomy. We had rain, cold and miserable weather. I decided it was the weekend to work on my Gelli® printing plate. I knew I would need some time to create and apply all the layers of paint to get the effects I love about using the printing plate. With the bad weather and a block of time I decided to go ahead and create as much as I could. I didn't want to photograph all the different sheets so I did a little video just to show you what you can create in a few hours. Our challenge from the CC101 group this month is a stencil challenge, so I think I will have that covered.

Once I had done a bit of stenciling, I decided to try some experimentation using rubber stamps and the printing plate.

The first of many layers...

These pages were created using the plate, stencils and the marbling stamp from Rubber Nature.

These are pages were created using Rubber Nature Art stamps and the Gelli printing plate.

Here is a little video of my creative weekend.
I hope you had a good weekend of creating and crafting.
