Journal Swatching

Hello friends.
I have been trying out my new black journal.

The best way for me to know what works is to use products on the page so that is just what I did.

Here are my samples. You may find them helpful. What I find really works the best is paint and paint pens and any metallic markers. Have a fun weekend.

TDLP-4.25.15

Morning all,
This week's documented life project is dedicated to Dyan Reaveley who is this week's featured artist over at Art to the 5th. If anyone inspires me to get my ink and paint on it is Dyan. So take a look at what I did.
This is a journal cover.

I used one of my clean up papers for the inside cover. The cover started out with a piece of Gelli printed packing tape. That didn't wow me, so I just kept going.

More pages created with the left overs
Look at the cleanup pages ready for art and journaling. Have a great inky and painty day my friends,

WOYWW 226

Hello deskers,
I know for some of you across the pond it's Wednesday. It's still Tuesday here but I'm trying to get things wrapped up for the week. I'm finishing my calendar pages, there is a new tag to do with Tim, I have a new class starting and a couple of online classes so I've got to get moving. Here's the start of the page I did today. Be sure and stop by the Stamping Ground leave a comment for Julia and  see what others have on their work desk today.

As you can see the desk is a total loss. Ttfn

Perfect Fit

Hello everyone.
While at work the other day I realized that everyone was carrying the same mini iPad case. Put them all on the table and how was I to tell mine from everyone else's? Well here's my solution. I also thought up a cool solution for my stylus. Now it clips on the front never to be lost again.
Well I better get the rest of me ready for work tomorrow. It comes sooner than you think. Ttfn

Journaling

Hello bloggers,
While sitting in the hospital with my husband I needed something to keep me busy. I had my journal and a few tools so pages ensued. I began work on a couple of things and was able to complete some. So here's what I did.
Black paint with white paint and ink

Have a super day, my friends.

Journal Your Dreams

Morning-
Well it was one of those long sleepless nights. I was so glad I had my journals to keep me company. Now I'm ready to collapse. Wouldn't you know it just when I'm supposed be getting up for work I can sleep. Well bloggers here are the fruits of my sleepless night.-

Time to close the book on this one.
NIGHT!

June Calendar

I was not that happy with my first attempt  at the June's calendar pages. I was home today and had a bit of time to play some more. I am still not totally happy with the end product, but I am learning what I like. Well, July is just around the corner. I must move on. Thanks for stopping by.

Gelli®

Hi everyone,
This is national scrapbooking weekend and it started out rather gloomy. We had rain, cold and miserable weather. I decided it was the weekend to work on my Gelli® printing plate. I knew I would need some time to create and apply all the layers of paint to get the effects I love about using the printing plate. With the bad weather and a block of time I decided to go ahead and create as much as I could. I didn't want to photograph all the different sheets so I did a little video just to show you what you can create in a few hours. Our challenge from the CC101 group this month is a stencil challenge, so I think I will have that covered.

Once I had done a bit of stenciling, I decided to try some experimentation using rubber stamps and the printing plate.

The first of many layers...

These pages were created using the plate, stencils and the marbling stamp from Rubber Nature.

These are pages were created using Rubber Nature Art stamps and the Gelli printing plate.

Here is a little video of my creative weekend.
I hope you had a good weekend of creating and crafting.

May Calendar Pages

Hi bloggers,
May is just around the corner so time for my May calendar pages. I started out with Dylusions sprays and stencils. I added in a bit of paint stamping rub ons and stickers. May is a travel month for me so there's some fun at the end of the month. Yup you guessed it headed to Disney and San Diego with my girls. So without further ado here are my pages.

A Day with Lady Dy, Queen of Journals

I had such a fun day yesterday at the Scrapbooking Studio in Moline Illinois. Dyan Reaveley was there to teach two classes and I took both. I learned so much I just can't tell you what a great teacher she is. I have a ton of ink on paper and some pages in process I would like to share with you. We did so many wonderful techniques my mind is just racing. I have plans to help a friend today but will want to get back to my journal this evening. This is so addicting.
Be forewarned, this can become habit forming.

First I had to find the right outfit to wear. I decided to decorate a shirt with Color Wash and use some of Dyan's fun stamps. This is Petunia in the flower patch. Of course, I was teachers pet! Right Dy? I did hear you say it.

I need some flesh toned paint to finish Petunia off correctly.
I was so out of time.

Lovely words to live by, don't you think?

The queen and her court

Of course I had to take my Color washed and stamped
shopping bag and CC101 apron with me
 so I was fashionable attired.
So these are some pages in progress from my fab day out.
As Dyan says,'You can't walk on water if you don't get out of the boat".

Well let me tell you, this is way out of my comfort zone.
 It was sink or swim.

I know I have a voice, but what am I trying to say?

Fun stained glass effect with Dyan's new stencils.

Well Bloggers, that's it for now.
I am off and running for the day.
