Christmas Cards - Day 3

Hello everyone,
I wanted to show you my take on some cards that were done by Sherri Carroll and Christina Kowalczyk in day three of holiday card workshop 2013.

First up is this quick and easy card done with simple stamping and papers.

Sherri created hers with other product but I think you can use things from your stash and get just as nice of a look.  I used some studio calico paper and stamps from three different sets. To make the embossed saying show off a bit more, use some ink on a sponge and highlight the words.

Next are these fun cards done with masking, die-cuts and stencils. I think you could use just about any open space to create this look on the front of your card.

Just experiment with what you have. That's what I did. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Holiday Cards - Day 2

Hello everyone,
Wanted to show you my take on a card that was shown to us in class by Debbie Hughes. My version is a bit quicker since I used a patterned paper in the background. I will try this one again with different supplies after class is over. If you haven't taken classes with these ladies,  I highly recommend that you do. They cover all kinds of things and whether you're a beginner or advanced card maker, there's always something to learn. So here it is. Be sure and stop back to see what I continue to create from ideas gleaned from class.

Unique Fold Card

Hi Everyone,
Today I started watching the videos from online card classes featuring Jennifer MaGuire and Kristina Werner. I love all of their videos but I decided to do a card based on a design by Jennifer. If you haven't taken any of their classes I can highly recommend them. So here's my take on Jennifer's card. I used some papers and embellishments from My Minds Eye.

The stitched Merry Christmas greeting extends over the fold.

I hope you've had time to create some holiday cards.

Insider Day 3

Good morning friends,
Just a quick card before I head off to crop today.   This is my take on a design from Laura on online card classes. I used an old line of Scrapworks papers that I've had been hoarding forever. Also tried some of the new colors of chalk inks from Hero Arts and a new stencil from Tim Holtz. Here's the results.

Flip Card

Hi everyone,
I want to share with you a flip card that was inspired by Shari Carroll. She had a lovely design in class yesterday and so I picked some of my fun papers from the shelf to make this.  Using My Minds Eye the Sweetest Thing tangerine pack I created this card for my granddaughter. I used two acetate pieces from packaging to create the flip pages. I hope you can see the layers in the pictures. It was a lot of fun to make.

Insider Pop-up

Hello everyone,
It has been a busy day. Yes I'm still packing for the rummage sale. In between that and laundry I have done three posts today. This is the third and final. Online card classes started the insider class today. So this is my homework. I hope you enjoy it.

Can't wait to see what we do tomorrow.

September Calendar Pages

Hello everyone,
Seems as though I have had a very busy month already. I spent Labor Day weekend in St. Louis with my family. It was a very hot weekend but we had a good time together. The following weekend was the MDA crop. Sherrie and her crew put on a fabulous crop and raised about $19,000 for MDA campers.
I started this calendar page at the crop this last weekend. This is also for the CC101 challenge on Facebook. This is a closed group that formed after taking Creative Chemistry 101 with Tim Holtz. If you have the opportunity, take his class, it is wonderful. Once you have taken his class come join us on Facebook. There is an opportunity right now to get a two dollar discount on the 101 class. He is offering Creative Chemistry 102 in October. The prerequisite for this course is Creative Chemistry 101. You can check out the details here. So here are some photos of my process.
