StencilGirl® Design Team Hop - Gift Worthy

Hi and welcome to a fun blog hop from the StencilGirl® CreativeTeam. We were charged with creating something gift worthy. I decided to work with some clay.

I had fun with this new to me clay and I have a video of the process for you here.https://youtu.be/MQ0cmW1WJgA

So once the clay had cured, I added several coats of dimensional adhesive to seal and add a gloss finish to the piece.

I think it turned out pretty cool and that clay takes an impression really well.
Once it cured it was time to add the embellishments. I used Sari silk ribbon and a few findings.

I hope you enjoyed this project and decide to make a few of your own. Thanks for stopping by. ttfn

The more comments, the more chances you'll have to win $50 worth of StencilGirl® stencils! Good luck!

What's Up

Hi everyone,
I hope you've all been well. I've been prepping for a couple of things and been traveling. We helped my sister-in-law celebrate her 80th birthday. I got some really wonderful happy mail from some friends and I thought I ought to share it with you.
The tag on the left is from Lynne for a tag swap we both participate in over at Sheri's blog. She used Dylusions and I LOVE the bright colors. The card on the right is from my good friend Karen. Even though we live states apart, we remain crafting buddies.
One of the projects I've been working on is a stamping tool. I had seen many people using the Misti tool but just couldn't justify spending the money. This got me to thinking I could make my own. I did a visit to the hardware store and purchased some of the components to assemble my version. I had a quilters measure I used for the top. My hardware store cut a piece of plexi I used for the base. I cut up a wood yardstick for the edge and use fun foam when I stamp clear stamps. The hinges are attached with two part epoxy. What do you think? not bad for $15,00. I may make a smaller one for travel. I had the hardware cut some plexi 6X6 out of scraps. These are $1.60. I need to check my coffee can hardware for some more hinges. Anyone else throw all the add stuff in a coffee can like I do?
As some of you know I have some classes coming up soon.

I have been playing with jewelry components since kitting for classes.

I have also been working on bible journaling. You know me. I must have multiple projects going on or I think things are amiss.

Well tonight is card and scrap night at the Create Exchange so I better pack up something to play with tonight. ttfn

WOYWW 240

Hi everyone just a short note. My flight to Anaheim was canceled today. Going to try to head out there tomorrow. So what do I do when I'm stuck? I go to my desk.
I've been working on this piece for sometime and now I think I can call it done. Hope you like it. I know it's a little bit different for some of you.
A happy WOYWW to all. If you don't understand what I'm talking about check out Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground to find out the details. You may want to check out some of their desks and join the fun.  I will be skipping next week more than likely unless I can post from California. I will be headed out to CHA, Prima's Art Venture and several Copic classes as soon as I can get a flight. On a. bus headed to the DesMoines airport. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Ttfn

WOYWW. 2014-239th edition

A big happy New Year week to all of the deskers. A happy WOYWW to all. If you don't understand what I'm talking about check out Julia's blog at theStamping Ground to find out the details. You may want to check out some of their desks and join the fun. I am so sorry I've been missing in action the last few weeks. Seems like the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas was very short this year. I really have no excuses but Wednesdays just flew by. I will be skipping next week more than likely too, unless I can post from California. I will be headed out to CHA, Prima's Art Venture and several Copic classes next week. I will be meeting up with my buddy Sandi from Canada and should have a wonderful time. Hopefully I'll get a lot of creating done too.
This week I have been creating a lot of jewelry to go into the new store in Czech Village. They just opened before Christmas and I didn't have time to create much to put on display. So as you can see I am creating jewelry. I have been using the Ranger Vintaj patinas to do coloration on metal. I think it looks pretty nice. I topcoat it using Diamond Glaze. Some are the glass and acrylic tiles with embossed papers. I am also making some coaster sets. I will see if there is a market for them.

Well that's about it. I'm off to get some rest. Hopefully I can catch up with some of the other deskers later on today. Anyway I think I'm off to a pretty good crafty start for this new year. ttfn

Hello everyone,
The weather outside is frightful, ice, snow and cold. I've been in the studio creating Christmas jewels. This is embossed paper applied to glass tile. I am making necklaces and earrings.

Here is a video tour.

You can get so many different variations.
I hope my friends enjoy these holiday gifts.
