WOYWW 345 - Jean-Michel Basquiat

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd stop by with a quick note about what's going on in my life. As you can see from the new clutter, I am working on class projects.

I know my desk is a mess again but with good reason.  If you're wondering why am showing you these messy pictures be sure and check out Julia over at the Stamping Ground and all the rest of the deskers posting there. Well I must get back to my mess. But first let me tell you about the wonderful class I am taking with n*Studio. Nathaliesstudio has a month long class/workshop exploring art from the masters. This week is Basquiat. My page is drawn from his use of symbology, language and a tip of the hat to his street art style. Notice how the eyes and face are not perfectly proportioned. This is a self portrait(er-a you probably knew from the gray hair). The crown is a symbol he used a lot in his are as is the quote drawn from Basquit. Each week is a different artist and samples from five instructors for inspiration.
Well I am off and running again. Ttfn Peg

That's pretty cool Peg! I like using crowns too - sometimes I have to stop myself from incorporating it, in fear of overusing it - but if it was just me, I would do it all the time! Love that painterly effect! Thanks for visiting earlier! Have a great rest of the week!
