CJS-Picasso Inspired

Hello everyone,
Last weeks lesson for Creative Jump Start was using Pablo Picasso for inspiration. One thing I take away from Picasso is that he worked in a multitude of mediums. I like to think that he enjoyed experimenting and trying new things as much as I do. I wanted to do something dimensional after seeing the sculptures and gourds he created.
Anyway, this week I experimented using a mask from Stencil Girl. I ran it through my embosser with some gold coated foil and created a cover for a journal. I hope you enjoy it. I didn't little video of the process on YouTube.
Top and left are the front, Bottom is the back with wax filler
The backside of the foil is filled with wax to prevent it from being crushed. I sanded the gold foil finish down after the wax was poured into the design. Then I used black acrylic paint to emphasize the relief.

It's absolutely stunning Peg. I like the idea of supporting your design with wax. Barbxx

This is beautiful! I love the idea of using a mask to emboss foil - I haven't tried that yet, but I'm going to now!
