WOYWW 233 - Holiday in progress

Happy Wednesday everyone,
Time to check out the desks of crafters around the world. If you want to find out more about it check out Julia's blog here and join in.

I had a big day Saturday crafting and completed some of my Christmas cards. You can see from the disarray on my desktop I have a lot of components ready to start assembly. This week I'm headed to the One-Of-A-Kind show in Madison Wisconsin. I signed up for a bunch of classes and plan to see Tim Holtz at the Stampers Anonymous booth along with the other great vendors.

Below is one of the flip cards I have been working on.

The design allows for the middle section to swing and flip.

I also did a pop up design. I just think it adds to the fun of the holiday season.

I did a little shopping was able to find some frog and washi tape. Additionally I went to the hardware and found some ceramic tile to try my alcohol ink on. I still need to figure out what I want to seal them with and get something for bumpers for the bottoms so they don't scratch the tables.

Well that's it for today. Got to get my things around for classes. ttfn

What fabulous cards you have made. You must have spent considerable time on each one of them - am afraid mine will be rushed this year - if and when I get around to them.
Can only think of four of those felt chair legs things to stick on the bottom of the tiles - no idea on the top coat. I hear a lot about "varathane" (if I got it right.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me earlier - Neet 8 xx

Your cards are fabulous and those flip cards are very clever. I'd use the felt things on the tiles too but have no idea how you would seal them.
Have a great week,

Hi Peg, thanks for the visit earlier, sad to hear you don't use your Silhouette..I haven't had mine long, but it feels like it has so much potential and I even get to combine the cuts with sewing..Love your fancy cards, especially the pop up one. Cx #25

Oooh...I am so excited to see someone using one of those flip dies! I am so tempted to buy one with my next Hobby Lobby coupon, as I saw them there the other day. Do you imagine you'll use it on a lot of cards? Thanks for sharing. Thanks for your sweet visit too. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11

Your flip and pop-up cards are so much fun!

Do alcohol inks need to be sealed? Water won't mess them up, just alcohol, so I wonder.

Have fun at the show and meeting Tim!

I used little bits of felt for bumpers. And when alcohol inks hadn't been invented we used staton on tiles and sealed them with a spray acrylic..worked a teat. What's frog tape then? Your cards are lovely, so much work in them too, god for you for making time.

Wow lucky you getting to see and maybe meet the Duke if Distress! I didn't think alcohol inks needed sealing either. There is an outdoor sealer in the craft store(joann) in with the other spray sealers. Thanks for the earlier visit! WOYWW hugs! Nan G #22

Your cards are amazing - I'm having trouble getting started just doing plain old cards! Yours are quite pretty AND fancy!!
