Trash to Treasure

Hello friends,
You know how much I love everything Tim Holtz. Well today's the day I decided to take Tim's floral challenge. Check out his blog for details. There are some fabulous examples there.
For my part I decided to do a little recycling.
See if you can guess what I've used.
The tattered floral die that Tim has used for his flowers is one of my favorites.

I had this packaging that was too pretty to toss so I use the floral die to make sparkly flowers.

I also die cut old book pages.
Sprays came next. Dyan's Dylusions, Perfect Pearls and some homemade concoctions Tim showed me how to make in CC101 class.
Don't you just love sprays.

Then I distressed the heck out of everything.

Using the remaining plastic packaging, I created a stencil with the die.

Can you see the package cover that was recycled into a title?

Loads of layers and one more recycled element. can you see it?

Peeking out are the bottom petals that look like mirror.
Have you figured it out?

You guessed it...old CDs.
Heat them first to soften so they don't shatter.

The sweet little heart frame I picked up while junking.

 Thanks for stopping by.
I hope the real flowers start to emerge. I am ready for spring.

Wow! Wonderful and I'd never have thought the bigz die would cut a cd!

Love all the recycled layers!
I never thought of die cutting a CD. How much do you have to heat it?

Peg I love love love the fact that you upcycle your packaging & find treasures to create from it all. I was recently given a tin that I'm going to do my Tattered Florals on so I can re-gift it back. Can't wait!
Thank so much for sharing all the info this is just incredible.
HUGS xoxo

This is absolutely wonderful. LOVE LOVE LOVE it and yippee - something to do with all those freebie CDs from the newspapers - just as soon as I remember what I did with them!

interesting idea to use the CD's
I worry a bit about toxic fumes from heating the CD's.
Best to do that outside and wear a respirator.
